LIGHTING WORKSHOP INFORMATION
This page is for photographers who are well acquainted with their DSLRs and would like to expand their business, passion, or hobby. All of us love photography for our own reasons. Some of us love to capture moments. For others, the perfect nature shot makes you giddy. For some, abstarct art sends chills to your bone, and still for some, a wedding full of emotion is the place to be. Our interests may differ, but we all share the passion and drive to constantly challenge ourselves, try new things, and expand our expertise. That being said, you must understand how your ISO, f/stop, and shutter speed correlate to participate in this class. Understanding those fundamentals will guarentee you a wonderful learning experience with Laura Merikay!
Each workshop is limited to 4-6 attendees to ensure each student receives as much personal attention as desired. I am not a supporter of large lighting workshops unless enough people are present to provide one-on-one attention to each student. It’s too easy to go to a large workshop and feel drowned out in crowd; afraid to ask questions. This takes away from your experience and is why I limit the class size. Questions are always welcome during and after the class. Many of my students continue to contact me with questions and suggestions, and I highly encourage you to do so.
During the workshop we shall discuss equipment used, light modifiers, basic light placement, different lighting setups, light & camera settings, & types of light. You will be granted numerous opportunities to adjust, move, and place my lights- if you’re adventurous enough to try! 😉 By completion of the workshop you will feel revitalized, energetic, and ready to create on your own!
