Why should I hire Laura Merikay as my Photographer?
If you’ve viewed my images and felt captivated or intrigued by them, then perhaps you already know the answer to this question! You’re paying for high quality imagery that captures the essence of your beloved pet.

Aside from my session, what does my session fee pay for?
Your session free pays for my time~ before, during, and after~ our shoot. Prior to the shoot I will send you a questionnaire via email to get to know you and your pet and ensure the session captures everything you’d like it to. My job doesn’t end as soon as we’re through taking pictures. I spend several hours prepping the images for print.

How much will it cost?
I  have something to fit anyone’s needs! The average investment runs about $800-1900, although some people spend up to several thousand dollars. Payments can be broken down into payment plans over the course of 2, 3, & 6 months. I accept all major credit cards, cash, or checks.

Will you drive to any location for our shoot?
For a small travel fee I am more than willing to travel to a location. The exception is terminally ill pets, if located within Baton Rouge and I will drive to your house if need be for the session.

What should I do to prepare for our pet portrait session?
First and foremost you should fill out the questionnaire I send you! This enables me to cater to your needs. Secondly, I highly recommend bathing your pet the night before so they will be clean for their session. You may also get a bag of your pet’s favorite treats so we can bribe them if need be. I always have a bag of treats and a squeaky toy on site but I encourage and welcome you to bring any toys, treats, collars, clothes you would like your pet photographed in.

How long will the shoot last?
The shoot length varies with session. Typically one hour long but cats are notorious for taking 2-3 hours.

When will I get my images?
Upon conclusion of your shoot we will sit down and look through the images on my laptop. Then we’ll look through the various product options I offer and you can decide which of these options best displays your favorite images! Turnaround time is typically 4-6 weeks for prints and products. Albums take 2-3 week to be produced by the lab and allot for a majority of this time.

Why do you require a non-refundable deposit?
I require a deposit is to discourage and avoid last minute cancellations. You may cancel no less than 2 days before a shoot. If you do cancel less than 2 days before the shoot your deposit will be kept.

What if I need to reschedule?
If you need to reschedule proper notification (2 days) is requires to avoid losing your deposit. Rescheduling due to weather- aka if an outdoor session is rained out- is the only exception.
